In 2019-20, the Cree School Board's Sabtuan Adult Education Services (SAES) launched an exciting new initiative: the Adult Learning Needs Assessment (ALNA). The ALNA aimed to help us better understand local adult education and training needs through extensive surveys and research interviews.
3,068 community members completed ALNA surveys, and 182 participated in qualitative interviews. This means that over one out of every five adults in iiyiyiu aschii participated in the Adult Learning Needs Assessment.Employers were also interviewed, with additional employment data provided by Apatisiiwin Skills Development. We thank all participants, partners, and community leaders who made this initiative so successful.
The resulting analysis helps us answer many important questions about student success, Cree capacity, and adult education overall. We look forward to using this data to build local adult education strategies for each community, and are pleased to share the highlights with you through this website.
