Building Community Spirit

This momentous event will allow us to demonstrate our iiyiyiu and iinuu knowledge, skills, and identity through a variety of events, games, and competitions.

Each school and adult center will be sending delegations made up of students and employees to represent them, accompanied by Elders and knowledge keepers.

The events, games, and competitions will focus on iiyiyiu/iinuu ayimuwin (language) and iiyiyiu/iinuu iyihtiwin (traditions and practices).

Cree Knowledge

These games represent more than just a cultural event; they are a vital link in the chain of Cree knowledge transmission.

By bringing the communities together, the iiyiyiu maatiwaawin | iinuu metawewinh Games strengthen intergenerational bonds and provide a unique opportunity for Elders to share their wisdom with younger generations. Through their participation, youth learn about their culture in an interactive and engaging manner.
