CSB celebrates high school graduates on their success

The Cree School Board would like to congratulate 79 students who earned their Secondary School Diploma during the 2021-2022 school year.

The 2021-2022 school year was challenging for many students, but we are happy to announce that 34% of students enrolled in Secondary V earned their Secondary School Diploma, largely to the commitment of our students and the ongoing support from the parents, guardians, and teachers. Thank you!

We are proud of our graduates who have persevered throughout the pandemic to finish strong and carry on with their educational and life journeys“, said Kim Quinn, Director of School Operations.

Cree School Board NÎMÛTÂN funding application portal now available on

The Cree School Board is excited to launch its new funding management portal for the current and future post-secondary students!

The NÎMÛTÂN funding application process has been simplified for Cree post-secondary students, allowing for current and future students to submit their application digitally, update their profile, view tasks, begin a two-way communication with PSSS employees, participate in online surveys, access to forms, request advances, and receive funding all in one place.

Special Needs Symposium for Parents and Caregivers

The Cree School Board is pleased to announce the Special Needs Symposium for Parents and Caregivers will take place in Gatineau, QC on November 29 to December 1, 2022. We are grateful to be collaborating with the Disability Programs Specialized Services of the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay and Child and Family Services of the Cree Nation Government on this very special event.

Continuous Learning Journey Graduates 2021-2022

In 2020, the Continuous Learning Journey training program launched to support and empower administrative support staff. It was made to provide skills, tools and guidance through their roles at the Cree School Board. The program was lead by Human Resources and Sabtuan Adult Education Services.

In Memory of Joshua Miller

We are saddened by the unexpected passing of Joshua Miller on May 25, 2022. Joshua was a passionate teacher who loved working with our students in Whapmagoostui, Chisasibi, and Waskaganish. He worked as a Teacher (2011-2012 and 2017-2018), Special Education Department Head (2018-2022) and Interim Principal at the Cree School Board. At the same time, Joshua loved working for the Cree youth through Youth Fusion (2010-2014) and Frontier College (2014).

Register today for the Mozaïk Portal, a new communication tool for parents

Did you know there is an easier way to track your child’s progress in school?

The Cree School Board has launched the Mozaïk Portal for Parents online since December 2021. The Portal is a website that functions as a communication tool for parents, allowing parents to track their child’s academic progress while in school and giving them access to their child’s school files, including attendance, report cards, and many other great features!

Teacher's Appreciation Week at the Mistissini Sabtuan Learning Centre (February 9 to 11, 2022)

Supported by the Interim Centre Director and organized by Alexandrea Coon who is currently doing her internship at the Mistissini Sabtuan Learning Centre(MSLC), the MSLC students hosted a virtual activity where students were invited to share a positive message to their teachers as a way of showing appreciation. There was a participation prize for this activity as a way of encouraging students to participate.
