We extend our deepest condolences to the families and communities of Waswanipi and Oujé-Bougoumou in the recent passing of their community members. Our thoughts and prayers are with you today and in the days ahead.

Newly elected and re-elected School Commissioners

The Cree School Board is delighted to announce the commissioners for Nemaska, Chisasibi and Oujé-Bougoumou.

  • Noreen Moar was elected by acclamation in Nemaska.
  • Robin Pachanos was re-elected in Chisasibi.
  • Daisy Shecapio was re-elected by acclamation in Oujé-Bougoumou.

The 4th Regional General Assembly is going on a Community Tour

The Cree School Board is looking forward to visiting your schools and communities for the 4th Regional General Assembly – Community Tour around Eeyou Istchee for two weeks to discuss the theme “Continuing Our Iiyiyiu Education Journey.”

The biennial Regional General Assembly will begin the journey in the coastal communities from Tuesday, October 4 to Friday, October 7, 2022. Then the tour will continue from Monday, October 17 to Thursday, October 20, 2022 in the inland communities!

Provincial Elections 2022

The Quebec Provincial Elections will be held on October 3, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Students - Election day

There will be no classes for students on Monday, October 3, 2022. Under the Quebec Election Act, youth and adult students are given the day off to vote. As a result, all primary and secondary schools, including all Sabtuan Learning Centres, are closed on Monday, October 3, 2022.

CSB celebrates high school graduates on their success

The Cree School Board would like to congratulate 79 students who earned their Secondary School Diploma during the 2021-2022 school year.

The 2021-2022 school year was challenging for many students, but we are happy to announce that 34% of students enrolled in Secondary V earned their Secondary School Diploma, largely to the commitment of our students and the ongoing support from the parents, guardians, and teachers. Thank you!

We are proud of our graduates who have persevered throughout the pandemic to finish strong and carry on with their educational and life journeys“, said Kim Quinn, Director of School Operations.

Cree School Board NÎMÛTÂN funding application portal now available on eeyoueducation.ca

The Cree School Board is excited to launch its new funding management portal for the current and future post-secondary students!

The NÎMÛTÂN funding application process has been simplified for Cree post-secondary students, allowing for current and future students to submit their application digitally, update their profile, view tasks, begin a two-way communication with PSSS employees, participate in online surveys, access to forms, request advances, and receive funding all in one place.
