[Updated October 4, 2024] We are excited to announce that the Cree School Board's 5th Regional General Assembly will take place in Chisasibi, iiyiyiu aschii, on November 6 and 7, 2024.

On September 15, 2024, Dr. Sarah Pashagumskum was re-elected by acclamation for her third term as Chairperson of the Cree School Board (CSB). The announcement was made by the Chief Returning Officer, and official results are available here.

We are sad to learn of the passing of a long-time member of the Cree School Board family, Clarence Tomatuk on August 11, 2024 in Wemindji.

Clarence was a tireless advocate for education. He served in various roles within the Cree School Board, dedicating over 33 years to advancing iiyiyiu education. From his early days as a junior manager to his eventual position as the Director of Education Services for the Youth Sector, he worked relentlessly to improve opportunities for iiyiyiu students.

The Cree School Board, in collaboration with the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay, is proud to announce the launch of the Cree Springboard to Nursing program. This innovative initiative aims to empower Cree students by providing them with the necessary prerequisites to pursue a career in nursing, all while studying from the comfort of their home community, with some travel for the Math, Science, Chemistry and Physical Education courses.

Staff at Rainbow Elementary School in Waswanipi pay respect and honour the memory of a beloved colleague and friend, Cecile Gull, who worked at the school from March 2012 to the date of her passing, March 21, 2024.

We are sad to learn of the passing of a long-time member of the Cree School Board family, Frances Blackned Visitor on Sunday, March 24, 2024. Frances was a dedicated educator and committed advocate of the Cree language whose passion for teaching spanned 38 years with the Cree School Board. Her commitment to empowering students and unwavering dedication to excellence have inspired generations of Eeyou/Eenou.

All students currently enrolled in our schools are re-registered yearly using the Mozaïk Parent Portal. Parents can now re-register their child(ren) for the 2024-2025 School Year!

The deadline for completing the re-registration is Friday, June 7, 2024 at 5 p.m.
