Summer school success brings Cree School Board graduate total to 245
The Cree School Board would like to congratulate the 72 students who earned their Secondary School Diploma through CSB summer school. These students join the graduating class of 2019-20, bringing the total number of graduates to 245!
The 2019-20 school year was undoubtedly a challenging one for many students, but thanks to the dedication of our students and the endless support of teachers, families, and mentors, we are pleased to announce that 88% of students enrolled in Secondary V earned their Secondary School Diploma this year.
Schools are determined to celebrate their graduates despite the limitations of the pandemic. Outdoor graduations are being organized for both Secondary V and Grade 6 graduates in the coming weeks, with physical distancing between families.
VMS’ gradmobile visited all successful summer school students over the weekend.
"Families, school staff, and really the whole community came together to support our youth during this time", said Director General Abraham Jolly. "These graduation figures show that, even in challenging circumstances, we can work hard, stay motivated, and achieve great things."
