Formerly known as the Special Needs Symposium

As a follow-up to our announcement on September 9th, the Cree School Board is excited to share additional details about the upcoming Stronger Together Symposium for Parents and Guardians, taking place in Gatineau, QC from December 3 to December 4, 2025.

We are proud to announce that this event has been renamed from the Special Needs Symposium to the Stronger Together Symposium. This change reflects our evolving vision: to build resources and services together for children and adults with special needs. The new name, inspired by the Cree phrase ᒫᒨ ᒪᔥᑰᑳᐴᐦᑖᐤ “Stronger Together”, emphasizes collaboration, unity, and shared responsibility among families, communities, and organizations.

What to Expect

The Symposium will offer a welcoming space for parents and guardians to connect through workshops, a sharing circle, and presentations from:

  • Cree School Board
  • Cree Nation Government
  • Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay

Who can Participate?

Registration is open to parents and guardians of children and adults with special needs, with a maximum of two participants per family. Space is limited, so we encourage you to register early.
