Protecting our Education in the Face of Forest Fires

In these rapidly changing conditions surrounding forest fires and smoke, we want to emphasize to all parents and employees the importance of staying informed and following local recommendations, while also trusting your local public safety.
The Cree School Board recognizes that these recommendations from your communities are intended to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, parents, and employees. As a result, we are actively respecting these recommendations to promote the safety for all of those affected by the forest fires.
We would like to express our gratitude to all parents and employees for your ongoing support, patience, and understanding, as we continue to respect and follow the local recommendations together. Our thoughts are with Oujé-Bougoumou, Waswanipi, and Mistissini, as well as all of those affected by the forest fires during this difficult time.
We encourage everyone to check local resources in your community (e.g., radio, local CMC and band office Facebook pages) for updated information. Employees who are affected are advised to speak with their supervisors.
For students, if you have questions about exams, please contact your schools directly.
Stay informed and stay safe!
