In Memory of Dorothy (Cheezo) Gilpin Sr.

It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Dorothy Gilpin Sr. of Eastmain, a beloved member of the Cree School Board family from 1988 to 2015.

As both a teacher and principal over her 19 years at Wabannutao Eeyou School, Dorothy’s dedication, leadership, and compassion touched the lives of many generations of students and families. She will be remembered as a devoted educator who cared deeply for the success and well-being of her students and staff members. Through her strength and determination, Dorothy contributed greatly to her community and school during the challenging early years of the Cree School Board.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Dorothy’s family and to the community of Eastmain during this difficult time.
