Springboard to College

Complete CEGEP courses, learn about your culture, and prepare for post-secondary – all from your home community! 

Springboard programs are one-year partnership programs offered by John Abbott College (English) or Cégep Marie-Victorin (French) and the Cree School Board.

  • Study in your home community, completing courses online and on the land.
  • Deepen your Cree identity through culturally relevant courses created by Cree educators, for Cree students.
  • Gain credits towards your Diploma of College Studies (DCS).

Length

Full-time, two-semester program. Begins in August and ends in April.

Open to

Cree beneficiaries living in iiyiyiu aschii with a Secondary V Diploma before the session begins.

Program Delivery

Online courses. Plus a five-day intensive Physical Education course on the land each semester.

Student Supports

Access to a loaned laptop. In-community tutoring. Online support by the Indigenous Resource Centre and the virtual community.

Financial Assistance

Financial support to qualified students, in accordance with our in-community financial assistance policy.
