Sabtuan Regional Vocational Training Centre offers hands-on, accredited training for in-demand trades in Eeyou Istchee. Our 4,300 square meter facility in Waswanipi is equipped with multiple workshops and training areas, state-of-the-art equipment, machine simulators, and much more.
SRVTC is the first and only training facility in Eeyou Istchee to offer residences and meal plans to students and their families. Over 700 Eeyou and Eenou have graduated from SRVTC since the centre first opened in 2005 – find out how our programs can help you go further in your career!

Every student at SRVTC is a member of the Cree Nation. Meet people from other communities, access services in your language, and learn skills that matter in your community.

Residences for individuals and families
Want to attend a program at SRVTC, but live outside Waswanipi?
SRVTC offers residences for individuals and families (maximum two children). Residences and meal plans are provided at no cost to qualifying SRVTC students.
- Relax, study, and sleep in a fully furnished residence room
- Eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the full-service cafeteria
- Work out using our onsite gym facilities
- Socialize and make friends at the student lounge and through regularly scheduled events
