Learn to weld steel and stainless steel with semi-automatic machines! Master GMAW (Gas-Metal Arc Welding) and explore FCAW (Flux-Core Arc Welding), opening doors to exciting careers in welding.

Learn how to:

  • Perform welding calculations and interpret simple plans
  • Use lifting equipment and perform thermal cutting of metal parts
  • Weld using GMAW and FCAW in flat and horizontal positions
  • Assemble and produce simple welded structures

Program Content

  • Prevent health, safety and environmental hazards
  • Perform welding calculations
  • Operate lifting and handling equipment
  • Perform thermal cutting of metal parts
  • Interpret simple assembly plans and draw sketches
  • Weld steel and stainless steel parts using the GMAW process in the flat and horizontal positions
  • Establish welding and cutting procedures
  • Weld steel parts using the FCAW process in the flat and horizontal positions
  • Produce simple assemblies
  • Prepare for their career path

Do you have the prerequisites?

  • 18 years old
  • Passed the General Development Test (GDT)
  • Secondary II English, French and mathematics
