About the program

This program focuses on developing the particular skills and abilities required of the indigenous teacher in middle school of his/her community. It prepares indigenous teachers to teach students at this level in ways that are developed mentally and culturally appropriate. The program focuses on the particular psychological, emotional, and social needs of First Nations and Inuit adolescents and the teacher’s role in facilitating the transition between elementary and high school.


Admission Criteria

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Open to Cree beneficiaries living in the iiyiyiu aschii communities
  • Must hold a Bachelor Degree in Education

  • Where you are asked to upload your transcript, please do so.
  • You can copy/paste or upload your Record of Past or Current Employment where indicated.
  • You can copy/paste or upload your Letter of Intent directly onto the form where indicated.
  • Ensure that you have filled in all the information required.
