We’re here to help. Sabtuan Adult Education Services can give you the tools to improve your literacy, complete Secondary-level courses, and prepare for your future. 

General education programs are customized for each student, following a personal learning plan.

Full-time students spend at least 20 hours per week completing courses. 

Exams are offered regularly throughout the year.

Our goal is to help you be successful and complete your courses as quickly as possible, so you can move forward and achieve your dreams!

Earn your Secondary School Diploma

SAES provides a welcoming, culturally-rooted environment for adult students who want to return to school. Choose the courses you wish to take, then work one-on-one with your teacher to reach your goals.

Prepare for the workforce

Build work and life skills with our "Socio-vocational Integration" (SVI) program. Offered in select communities, SVI uses community work placements and class activities to help students increase their capacity.

Improve your Language & Literacy

Learn how to read, write, or speak a language with adult education! SAES offers a variety of options for learners at all levels, including Pre-Secondary, Literacy, and Conversational Cree and French courses.

What do you need to graduate?

A Secondary School Diploma is awarded to an adult learner who has obtained at least 54 credits in Secondary IV and V. At least 20 of these credits must be in Secondary V.

These 54 credits must include:

  • 12 credits in language of instruction, at least 6 of which must be at the Secondary V level
  • 8 credits in a second language, at least 4 of which must be at the Secondary V level
  • 4 credits in Social Sciences at the Secondary IV or V level
  • 8 credits in Mathematics, Science and Technology, at least 4 of which must include Mathematics

*The number of credits obtained in language of instruction and second-language must not exceed 36.
